The Harbourside Dining Room  buzzed with anticipation March 17 at The Resort at Longboat Key Club.
While some members and patrons of the Friends of Selby Library chatted, others sat, thumbing through their recently purchased copies of "Who Stole the American Dream?" and "The Power Game: How Washington Works."
The author of the books, Hedrick Smith, meanwhile mingled with Friends of Selby Library board members before his lecture and book signing. Smith is a former New York Times editor, Pulitzer Prize winner and Frontline correspondent.Â
The event benefited youth programs at Selby Public Library.Â
