Braden River Elementary teacher earns Educator of the Year award

Braden River Elementary School teach Nicholas Leduc was named the "Educator of the Year" by the Manatee County School District on Wednesday night.

Honoring Leduc, a fourth-grade teacher, was part of the 2017 Excellence in Education Awards. 

Johnson Middle School's Michael Brackman was named Support Employee of the Year.

Each award comes with a $5,000 cash prize, an all-expenses paid trip for two to Pittsburgh for a Pirates game and a $100 gift card to the Mall at University Town Center.
