Sarasota's Richard Confessore perused tables at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center Feb. 25, picking up pens, brochures and business cards.

As an attendee of Lakewood Ranch Community Activities Corp.'s annual Health and Wellness Expo, he was on a quest for information about health options and technologies.

“I like to learn the latest,” he said. “It makes me aware of the things I need to ask my doctor about.”

More than 50 vendors in the health-and-wellness field provided information, free health screens and other health-related news and tips to hundreds of guests seeking information. The event also included a farmer’s market so visitors could pick up fresh produce on their way home.
