Manatee County to approve budget Thursday

A special land-use meeting scheduled for Thursday has been rescheduled for Sept. 29, however Manatee County Commissioners will still adopt a new budget that evening.

The budget hearing is slated for 6 p.m. Sept. 15, at the Manatee County Administration Building, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., and will be streamed live on mymanatee.org.

The special land-use meeting will start at 9 a.m. Sept. 29. Commissioners will hear a request by Mosaic Fertilizers to rezone 3,595 acres east of the Wingate Creek Mine, south of Duette Park, from agricultural to extraction zoning.
