Planning Commission to hear neighborhood expansion

The Manatee Planning Commission on Thursday will consider two development requests, including a rezone for the Silverleaf development, in Parrish.

The change would allow an additional 67 lots, bringing total units to 799 for the project.

The Planning Commission meets at 9 a.m. May 12, at the Manatee County Government commission chambers, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton, to discuss the proposal.

The other item is a future land-use map amendment for 7.38 acres on the east side of First Street East, in Bradenton, from light industrial to retail/office/residential.

The Planning Commission makes recommendations on land-use items to the Manatee County Commission, who will hear the items next month and decide whether to approve them.
