Community members and families with cystic fibrosis spoke Thursday about the fight to find a cure.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation luncheon was held at the University Park Country Club, with 90 people attending the event. The funds from the tickets, raffles and silent auction baskets were donated to the Team Kasten for the Great Strides Walk, which is being held at Siesta Key Beach Saturday, May 14. The event was hosted by Sara and Heather Kasten. Heather Kasten’s daughter, Carli, has CF.
“It’s really important to get the word out and get people involved in fighting this terrible disease,” said Vanessa Baugh, who spoke at the meeting. Her grandson also has CF. “It’s our job, our duty, to make sure we do what we can to help.”
