The Lakewood Ranch softball team narrowly fell to Lake Region 1-0 in non-district action March 4.Â
Mustangs outfielder Denali Schappacher went 2-for-3 to lead the way for Lakewood at the plate. Maddie Biggs, Morgan Cummins and Kailey Christian each had a hit.Â
Lakewood junior Logan Newton pitched a complete game for the Mustangs, allowing one run on seven hits and four walks.Â
With the loss, the Mustangs fell to 11-2 on the season while the Thunder improved to 10-0. Lakewood returns to action March 11 versus Fort Myers in the Gulliver Tournament.Â
