The top-ranked Lakewood Ranch High will advance to the regional tournament for the 15th consecutive season after blanking Sarasota 4-0 in a Class 5A-District semifinal match Jan. 12.Â
Junior Maddison Krstec scored a pair of goals in the first half and added an assist to lead the way for the Lady Mustangs.Â
Sydney Wicks and Maria Gonzalez each added a goal. Faith Schyck was credited with a pair of assists and Conli Schwartz had an assist.Â
With the win, Lakewood will play host to Manatee, a 7-0 winner versus Riverview in the other semifinal, in the district championship at 7 p.m. Jan. 15.Â
Sarasota finished the season 5-10 and will graduate five seniors from this year's squad.Â
