The Lakewood Ranch High boys basketball team is a district champion once again.

The host Mustangs beat Palmetto 77-64 in the Class 7A-District 11 championship Feb. 5 to clinch Lakewood's first title since 2005.

Junior forward Justin Muscara recorded a double-double, finishing with a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Brock Sisson contributed 12 points. Junior guard Sam Hester added 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals.

As the district champion, Lakewood will host North Port in a Class 7A-Region 3 quarterfinal, at 7 p.m. Feb. 11. The Bobcats, the  District 12 runner-up, beat the Mustangs in last year's district championship when the two were in the same district. Lakewood pulled out a 56-43 win versus North Port during their regular season matchup back on Nov. 20.
