Want to guide how Manatee County spends its new sales half-cent tax revenue?

Manatee County is accepting applications for seven seats on the newly created Citizens Oversight Committee for the Infrastructure Sales tax.

The committee will meet periodically to prepare an annual report to the Manatee County Commission, which reviews expenditures of the half-cent sales tax, which voters approved in November.

Four of the initial members of the committee will serve three year terms, and three of the members will serve two year terms.

After that, all members will serve two year terms.

Qualified applicants must reside in unincorporated areas of Manatee County. All meetings will be publicly noticed.

Applications are due Friday, Jan. 6 and may be found online at www.mymanatee.org/advisory_boards.
