On Dec. 12, senior living received a joyous injection of youth.
Forty Girl Scouts from Lakewood Ranch (Troops 690 and 524) and Parrish (Troop 158) performed Christmas carols at Inspired Living in Lakewood Ranch and the residents couldn't have been happier.
"I thought it was wonderful," said Cathy Illig, a resident at Inspired Living. "I wish I could see them here more often."Â
The Girl Scouts brought gingerbread houses, cookies, drinks and gift bags filled with homemade bird feeders, ornaments and Christmas cards.Â
"We really wanted to get the girls out and show them what it is like to help other people," said Crystal Rothhaar, a Girl Scouts troop leader. "It's good for them to share the Christmas cheer with people who don't get to see a lot of children."Â
