What would you do at a dance for middle school students?

If you are 11-year-old Ava White, you take a selfie.

“It’s my friend’s phone,” she said with a grin, as she and friends ate pizza and listened to music Aug. 26, during the GreyHawk Landing Middle School Night, organized by the community’s social committee.

She joined more than 30 other sixth- through eighth-grade students in GreyHawk Landing enjoyed pizza and snacks, dancing, karaoke, prizes and a photo booth. Lakewood Ranch High School student and GreyHawk Landing resident Kevin Mendal served as disc jockey, while artist Judy Sherako decorated students’ arms with glitter tattoos.
