The Conservation Reception took place just before sunset at Bay Preserve Sunday evening. Guests gathered for the cocktail reception on the lawn of the Burrows-Matson House at Bay Preserve.Â
The annual event hosted by the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast honors the Conservation Partner of the Year.Â
The 2015 recipient is the Sarasota Audubon Society in recognition of its efforts to protect the nesting grounds for the threatened species of snowy plovers. Â For this year a total of nine mating pairs made 23 nesting attempts on all of Siesta Key. Two chicks were able to hatch from nests on land protected by the CFGC.Â
The award of a Clyde Butcher photograph was presented to Sarasota Audubon Society President Jeanne Dubi.Â
