Good brews, good bands, good barbecue and good buds.

The Beer, Bands and BBQ event brought hundreds to the Polo Grounds at Lakewood Ranch to enjoy live music and local eatery Saturday afternoon, Oct. 3. The family-friendly event also had an area for children, with face and pumpkin painting and other activities.  Music Compound is organization based in Sarasota with the mission to inspire children and young adults to pursue their love of music.

Wendy Anderson and Tom Rummell opened up the dance floor while Gumbo Boogie took the stage.

"They're one of our favorite bands," Anderson said.
