Families, visitors and veterans were welcomed to Patriot Plaza at the Sarasota National Cemetery for the Memorial Day Ceremony Sunday evening. A special recognition was given to veterans who served during the Vietnam War with a pin to commemorate the 50th anniversary.

Following the presentation relatives visited the gravesites of their loved ones buried at Sarasota National Cemetery. All graves were adorned with American flags for the first time for Memorial Day due to efforts by the organization Flags For Fallen Vets.
