Eighty-six players hit the gridiron for Lakewood Ranch’s High’s annual Summer Football Camp June 8 through June 12.

Campers, ranging in age from 4 to 14, enjoyed participating in a variety of position drills, including tackling, throwing, rushing and receiving, agilities, speed development and strength training and flag football games, among other drills and competitions.

In addition, Lakewood also started its summer weightlifting program for all incoming freshman interested in playing football. Freshman lifting will be held from 8-10 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays throughout the summer. Those who missed the first week can still attend.
