Do you have a killer beard? Is your mustache waxed to perfection? Come show off your feats of facial hair at the grand opening of the Libby’s Cafe + Bar L Bar. $500 cash prize each for best beard and best mustache.

Enjoy craft cocktails and a small menu in the vintage-inspired space while you judge for yourself — who has the mightiest beard of all?

+ First Friday Gulf Gate — takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. in Gulf Gate. Free.

Test your skills, get in shape and enjoy some time outdoors. Event features pre-race bottled water, a GPS-mapped course and monthly prizes.

+ Sarasota Rolling Renegades Roller Derby —takes place at 6 p.m. at Stardust Skate Center, 2571 12th St. $12.

Watch Sarasota’s Rolling Renegades battle The Orlando Pscho City Straight Jackettes.

Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Bring a chair to sit track side, right next to the action. After-party to follow immediately at Sportz Landmark Bar & Grill.

+ Ayawasca Night and Bottle Release — takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. at Darwin Brewing Co., 803 17th Ave. W., Bradenton.

Join Darwin Brewing Co. as it celebrates its one-year anniversary.

Festivities will include guest chef Diego Oka from Miami, live music from NUNA, birthday cake and a special bottle release of Darwin Brewing Co.'s Bourbon Barrel-aged Ayawasca.

This irreverent collection of witty, wacky and whimsical novelty songs scores these comic explorers as they set out to amuse, delight and figure out where humanity has gone wrong.

Features composers such as Allan Sherman, Monty Python and Kander and Ebb and songs like “Helium” and “Jolly Old Sigmund Freud.”
