Whoville-esque hair was a clear trend during RiverLife Church of God's "crazy hair day." Girls propped up their hair with water bottles, and boys styled mohawks. Each day had different group activities, and children received points for their participation and enthusiasm. The vacation Bible school had 65 children and 40 volunteers, and was themed "MOVE." The theme was centered around stories of other people whose faith inspired them to take action in their lives.
Melinda Jeter, Cindy Schultz, and Jeannette Kennedy are the three main vacation Bible school organizers.
"Jeanette's the lead singer, I'm the lead guitarist, and Cindy is the base drummer in this," said Jeter.
Volunteer Jenna Durst, 16, propped up her hair with a water bottle.
Modine Brown, right, turned 80 years old in July and is the church's oldest member. She and her daughter, Stephanie Jolly, helped out with vacation Bible school.
