Students act out their favorite historical and pop culture figures

Historical figures ranging from George Washington to Clara Barton came to life at Ashton Elementary School for Morning at the Museum Feb. 25.
Students created costumes to dress as their favorite people in history and pop culture like Franklin D. Roosevelt and Beyonce.
Whitney Tucker’s first grade class combined with Denise Isaacson’s and Susan Whiteside’s second grade classes to select one person for each student to research. Since January, students have been reading biographies and studying their person to use the information to build scripts. During Morning at the Museum students stood still waiting for visitors to step on a place marker that would signal them to come to life and speak.
Laura Florez-Rey, Justein Savwoir and Sean Bruinius each dressed as George Washington for Morning at the Museum.

Greene embodied Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn complete with cardboard skis, bamboo branches as ski poles and a medal.
