Celebrating the holidays is a countywide affair.

In observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas, as well as the start of a new year, Manatee County officials announced holiday closures for the end of 2015.

Students countywide are off from school until Jan. 4.

Libraries will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas day and will reopen Dec. 26.

Although libraries normally close at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, each will close at 6 p.m. Dec. 31.

Garbage and recycling collections will be suspended on Dec. 25.

Looking for a ride on Christmas? No fixed-route buses will be on the road Dec. 25, but buses will be running Dec. 31.

County offices are closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Although county offices will be closed, public parks, preserves and beaches will remain open.

Golf courses will also remain open throughout the holidays.
