Although the weather outside wasn't frightful or snowy, fifth-graders at Tara Elementary Dec. 8 transformed their cafeteria into a winter wonderland.
The stage featured a re-creation of the North Pole, with faux snow and special appearances by Santa Claus and Rudolph.
Students performed their annual holiday play, "Snow Jubilee," during which they sang holiday favorites, such as "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer" and "Jingle Bells."
Music Director Barbara Siffermann co-wrote the play, which was based on the book, "Snow What Fun."
"OK, everyone," Siffermann whispered to her students before showtime. "You are happy snowmen. Keep smiling and have fun."
Attendees snacked on cookies and hot chocolate while they watched their children perform on stage.
