Teachers, sponsors and 40 students from Booker, Riverview, Sarasota and Venice high schools gathered to celebrate the 17th annual Most Improved Student Award Wednesday at Michael's on East. Students that were nominated demonstrate leadership in the classroom and the community. High school seniors that were honored also received a cash award to be used toward pursuing a postsecondary education this upcoming fall.
