May 11
Smooth skiing

3:56 p.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Agency. Police helped search for a Jet Skier who had not returned. Coast Guard officers reported that both the man and his Jet Ski returned unharmed.

May 12
Bad directions

3:59 p.m. — 500 block of Dream Island Road. Welfare Check. Jacksonville deputies asked police to deliver an emergency message to a couple in Unit E-12 of a condominium. There was no Unit E-12, or anyone living in the community who goes by the names provided.

They didn’t get far
5:25 p.m. — Coquina Beach. Assist Other Agency. Police assisted Bradenton Beach police after two suspects fled the scene when an officer discovered a stolen motorcycle. One of the suspects was found hiding in mangroves, and a second fled into the bay, but eventually surrendered to the Coast Guard.

Baggage claim
8:12 a.m. — 6500 block of GMD. Found Property. A woman flagged down police after she left her purse on top of her car and lost it when she pulled onto the road. The dispatcher told police the purse had already been turned in as found property.

Stolen wallet
10:32 a.m. — 300 block of GMD. Larceny. A hotel employee left her wallet, which had more than $400 and her credit cards and work permit, on her housekeeping cart. She discovered it was missing at the end of her shift and found more than $550 worth of charges to her bank card.

Made up story
7:32 p.m. — 2200 block of Harbourside Drive. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman who sells Mary Kay products received a call from a woman claiming to also be a representative. She asked her to charge $1,600 worth of products and that, in return, she would only pick up $328.49 in merchandise. The woman plans to contact Mary Kay about the incident.

Warning message

10:30 a.m. — 5400 block of GMD. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman received an email with a FedEx Express header stating that a package for her contains a $2.3 million debit card that she would receive if she sent $380 and her personal information. She knew it was a scam but wanted to warn others. Police suggested she write “scam” across the top of the email in red and post it to her condo’s bulletin board.

Watchful eyes
2:30 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road. Lost/Missing Property. A woman discovered her watch was missing and does not believe it was stolen. She last remembers wearing it on a golf course. Security searched the course but was unable to find it. Police checked pawn shop databases and did not locate it.
