The Downtown Improvement District’s South Palm Avenue Revegetation Project, which began Monday, July 16, is wrapping up its first week of work. Landscapers have removed old palm trees, which will be replaced with Florida royal palms.

The work will continue through next week with the installation of a drip irrigation system, before the new vegetation is planted. Eddie Miller, an inspector for the city, says the job was scheduled for 45 days, but that he expects about two more weeks of work. No road closures are anticipated.
