UPDATE: Manatee County Sheriff's office investigates death

UPDATE: Authorities have identified the victim as Ina Gross. Her son, Thomas Gross, 57, called 911 at 5:37 a.m. to report her death. Deputies arrived a few minutes later and found the victim dead on the garage floor.

Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating the death of a 77-year-old woman found dead in her home in the 11000 block of Hyacinth Place in Lakewood Ranch.

Investigators are treating Gross' death as a homicide.

Authorities expect to release more details later today.
