Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are looking for a man who invaded a home by force Sunday night in the 2400 block of Pope Road.

A Sheriff's Office report states a male suspect, armed with a weapon, forced himself inside an occupied residence around 9 p.m. Once inside, he stole the victim's personal property before fleeing the area.

Public Information Officer Dave Bristow said the the investigation is ongoing.

"It could have been a burglary, where the (suspect) thought (the home) was unoccupied," Bristow said. "At this point, though, we're not sure."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 634-8477.
