County secures final mowing contract

Sarasota County awarded the fourth and final roadside mowing contract to Natural Designs Landscape, which is expected to start work on the North Urban zone on Monday.

Sarasota County Procurement Official Ed Coyman Jr. last week signed the six-month contract recommendation, which was based on the $360,720 bid submitted by the Palmetto firm. The county will issue solicitation for a three-year median and roadside mowing agreement next year.

The county will continue using regular staff in the zone until Aug. 24, to catch up on the backlog left from the failed contract with Bloomings Landscape and Turf Management.
