Commissioners to consider East County proposals

Several East County development proposals will be coming before the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners this week.

Commissioners at 9 a.m., May 5 are slated to hear  requests  regarding Lakewood Walk shopping plaza and the Lakewood Ranch Commerce Park. Board members also will decide whether Tarmac America, a concrete manufacturer, will be allowed to rezone a property near the Rio Mar community and wether or not to approve plans for a 180,000-square-foot retail center at the southwest intersection of Lockwood Ridge Road and State Road 70.

The meeting will be held in the first-floor chambers of Manatee County's administrative building, 1112 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
