Ranch Rotary gives to local organizations

The Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch recently doled out $115,000 to more than 20 local charities.

Grants ranged from $1,000 to $10,000 and benefited organizations such as the Community Coalition on Homelessness, Easter Seals, Foundation for Dreams and Miracle League of Sarasota, among others.

The complete list includes:

• Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch Clean Water Project: $10,000
• Adopt-a-Village in Guatemala Inc.: $1,000
• Ave Maria Preparatory School: $4,100
• Children's Guardian Fund: $5,000
• Community Coalition on Homelessness: $1,700
• Easter Seals, SW Florida: $6,400
• Family Partnership Center: $4,500
• Forty Carrots Family Center: $2,500
• Foundation for Dreams: $7,500
• Humane Society of Sarasota County: $1,000
• Kids Against Hunger of Southwest Florida/Meals of Hope: $8,000
• Manatee Children's Services: $6,000
• Manatee Glens: $8,000
• Manatee Habitat for Humanity: $2,500
• Meals on Wheels PLUS: $5,800
• Miracle League of Manasota: $5,000
• Mothers Helping Mothers: $5,000
• PACE Center for Girls: $3,000
• Pines of Sarasota Foundation: $9,500
• Resurrection House: $3,500
• ShelterBox USA: $4,000
• SMART: $3,500
• We Care Manatee : $7,500

Grant funding came from net proceeds from the ninth annual SunCoast Food & Wine Fest.
