District cancels after-school activities

The Manatee County School District has canceled all after-school activities — both inside and outside — today because of a severe weather and tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service.

Only after-school childcare programs at elementary and middle schools will remain open. Cancelled activities include all athletic events, Open House events and Financial Night at Palmetto High School.
