Lady Pirates top Riverview in preseason opener

The Braden River High softball team defeated Riverview 1-0 in its preseason tournament opener Feb. 2.

Sophomores Hannah Loyer and Courtney Mirabella allowed just one hit while striking out 13 and walking two.

Loyer went 1-for-2 at the plate with a triple and an RBI to lead the way for the Lady Pirates at the plate. Ashley Allard went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and Brianna Maxa went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Braden River returns to preseason action Feb. 4 at Sarasota.
