A 14-foot long steel beam from the wreckage of the World Trade Center was mounted in front of the Sarasota Police Station Monday and covered with a red, white and blue tarp.

The city will host a dedication ceremony 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11 in front of the police station, 2099 Adams Lane, to honor the hundreds of first responders whom lost their lives helping to evacuate more than 20,000 people from the buildings before their collapse 10 years ago.
