The Sarasota City Commission is seeking individuals willing to serve on the following city advisory boards:
• Board of Rules and Appeals — Two seats for applicants that must be a licensed mechanical contractor and fire alarm contractor.
• Downtown Improvement District (DID) Board of Directors — Two seats for applicants that must be a non-residential property owner subject to ad valorem taxation within the district.
• Historic Preservation Board — One seat for an applicant that must be a practicing historian or archaeologist.
• Human Relations Board — One seat with no requirements.
• Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Citizens’ Advisory Committee — Two seats for applicants that must be city residents.
• Police Complaints Committee — One seat for an applicant that must be a city resident.
• Public Art Committee — One seat for an applicant that must be an architect.
• St. Armands Business Improvement District Board of Directors — One seat for an applicant that must be a property owner subject to ad valorem taxation within the district.
• Youth Advisory Board — One seat for a high school student who either attends school in the city or is a city resident.
Preference will be given to those who reside or own property in the city of Sarasota.
