A woman died yesterday in an accident near the intersection of State Road 70 and Lockwood Ridge Road.

A Florida Highway Patrol states Claudette Daigneault, 66, died in a two-car accident, which occurred around 10:15 a.m., April 27.

Robert Daigneault, of Newport, Vt., was driving westbound on State Road 70 when he attempted to turn left onto Lockwood Ridge Road and entered into the path of a car driven by Marc Lafferty, 20, of Sarasota.

Lafferty’s 2000 Ford struck the right rear side of Daigneault’s car, causing the vehicle to spin.
