Baugh announces candidacy (VIDEO)

Lakewood Ranch businesswoman Vanessa Baugh officially has thrown her hat into the race for the District 5 Manatee County Board of County Commissioners seat currently occupied by incumbent Donna Hayes.

Within hours of signing paperwork to make her run official, Baugh announced her candidacy from her business on Lakewood Ranch Main Street.

"I'm really excited now to officially be a candidate," Baugh said "I feel so strongly about it."

Baugh said she plans to launch a "listening tour," and meet with residents in homeowners association, civic groups and others to hear from constituents their concerns and desires.
