OBITUARY: Henry Taub

Henry Taub, 83, of Tenafly, N.J., and Longboat Key, died March 31.

Born in 1927, in Patterson, N.J., he founded Automatic Data Processing, a global provider of integrated computing and business outsourcing.

Mr. Taub was active in many local and national Jewish leadership organizations. He served as national president of the American Technion Society from 1974 to 1976 and chair of the Technion International Board of Governors from 1990 to 2003. At the time of his death, Mr. Taub held the title of honorary chair of the Technion International Board of Governors. He was also a member of the ATS national board of directors, the New York Metropolitan Region Board and an active member of the Sarasota ATS chapter, for which he served recently as honorary chair of the group’s annual dinner.

Mr. Taub was the recipient of the Technion Medal, a Technion honorary doctorate and a Technion honorary fellowship. In 2004, he was honored with a special ATS tribute celebration at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.

Mr. Taub and his wife, Marilyn, spearheaded numerous projects including the Henry and Marilyn Taub Family Science and Technology Center, the Leaders in Science and Technology Faculty Recruitment Program and the Henry and Marilyn Taub Fund for the Future.

Mr. Taub is survived by his wife, Marilyn; sons Ira and Steven; daughter, Judith Gold; brother, Joseph; and 10 grandchildren.

A service took place Sunday, April 3, in Tenafly.
