Thursday, Dec. 3
Remembering Florida’s Fallen
Starts at 1 p.m. at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, 6000 Airport Circle. A war memorial photo exhibit created to remember Florida's fallen since September 11, 2001. This solemn exhibit includes military and personal photos of those who called Florida home and died in the ensuing war. The exhibit will be on display until Dec. 21. Admission is free. Friday, Dec. 4
Holiday Night of Lights on St. Armands Circle
Starts at 5:30 p.m. at St. Armand’s Circle. The evening will start off with a performance by the Sarasota High School Theater Department and Cuban Ballet School, followed by the annual Christmas carol sing-a-long and Santa parade. Admission is free. Visit starmandscircleassoc.com.

Saturday, Dec. 5
Jingle & Jog 5K Run
Starts at 7 a.m. at Community Haven for Adults & Children with Disabilities, 4405 DeSoto Road. More than 450 runners and participants will run in the 5K run or walk in the one-mile walk with jingle bells on their shoes in in support of Community Haven. Registration starts at 7 a.m. Cost is $25 to $30. Call 355-8808, Ext. 258.

Sarasota Holiday Parade
Starts at 7 p .m. on Main Street between US 301 and Gulfstream Avenue. With thousands participating and even more viewing, the parade kicks off with decorated floats, live marching bands and the guest of honor "rounding" out the parade, Santa Claus. Admission is free. 

Sunday, Dec. 6 
Gulf Coast Sarasota Antiques Show 
Runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Columbus Hall, 4880 Fruitville Road. The focus is on 18th and 19th century Americana, furniture and accessories. Admission is $5. Call 228-7758.

Sunday, Dec. 6 
A Taste of Chanukah 
Runs from 1 to 5 p.m. at Sarasota Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd. Enjoy kosher food and goods, entertainment and activities including a petting zoo, snow slide, carnival games, an 8-foot dreidel and large balloon menorah. Admission is free. Visit atasteofchanukah.com.

Friday, Nov. 27 to Friday, Dec. 18  
Holly Days and Mangrove Lights
Runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Fridays at Historic Spanish Point, 337 N. Tamiami Trail, Osprey. Historic Spanish Point will feature decorated homestead buildings and lighted gardens. Regular admission applies: $12 for adults and teens and a $2 discount for seniors; $5 for ages 5 to 12; and free for and members. Call 966-5214.

Holiday Splendor at The Ringling
Runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at The Museum of Art, Circus Museum and Ca’d’Zan, 5401 Bay Shore Road. Celebrate the holiday season, and support the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Admission is free with one unwrapped toy per guest. Without a toy admission is $10 for adults; $5 for children ages 6 to 17. Visit ringling.org. 

Friday, Dec. 4 and Saturday, Dec. 5
Holiday Lights Spectacular 
Runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sarasota Jungle Gardens, 3701 Bay Shore Road. See the twinkle of thousands of lights decorating the pathways and surroundings of Sarasota Jungle Gardens. Other dates are Dec. 11 and Dec. 12; Dec. 18 to Dec. 24, and Dec. 26 and Dec. 27. Admission is $11 for adults; $6 for children 3 to 12; free for children 2 and under. Wine, Dine & Pine
Runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 811 S. Palm Ave. This event will feature a selection of wine, hors d’oeuvres and desserts from local restaurants. There will also be a luxury item silent auction and a mystery gift box tree. Tickets are $60 per person. Visit selby.org. 


Friday, Dec. 4 to Sunday, Dec. 6
Sarasota Craft Show 
Runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Robarts Arena, 3000 Ringling Blvd. More than 100 crafters and fine artists will feature their works. Admission is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors and children are free. Visit sarasotacraftshow.com

Sunday, Dec. 6 
42nd annual Singing Christmas Tree
Shows at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at First Sarasota Downtown Baptist Church, 1670 Main St. The 30-foot tree with more than 10,000 lights and 12 levels holds 115 choir members. Other performance dates are Dec. 9, Dec. 11 and Dec. 13. Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for children 12 and under. Call 888-684-5272.

Saturday, Dec. 5 
America’s Mental Health Crisis
Starts at 1:30 p.m. at Sarasota Opera House, 61 Pineapple Ave. Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather will discuss the impact of mental health on hospitals and prisons and the lack of treatments. Sarasota Memorial Health Care System and Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation host the event. Admission is free, but registration is required. Call 925-2970.
