Natalie Gundrum knew just whom to call. Sylvia Goldman, 95, had asked Gundrum with help in casting a self-help video called “Aging with Style, an Attitude Not a Number.” The video provides viewers with information and strategies about living longer, healthier and with more zest. Gumdrum put Ray Crucet, Palm-Aire resident, in touch with a coordinating procuder for the video who was searching for active seniors to film for various segments such as kayaking, biking, shopping and fitness.
He knew what do — he rounded up the group known as the Nine Hole Men’s Golf Association at Palm-Aire Country Club to take a swing in front of the lens.
The group’s mix of seniors includes physicians, dentists, professors, businessmen, World War II pilots, a political cartoonist and actor. The film site was the 18th green approach on the Champion’s course, also known as the “green monster.”
The selected cast was a foursome of Crucet, John Gerber, David Lafferman and David Murphy, with understudy Fred Faulkner. A director from Indiana and videographer from Los Angeles were flown in for the shoot.
