What makes you a good candidate to hold this position?

Experience and commitment. As a conservative Republican activist for more than 40 years, I have a proven record of successful service to members of our party and the candidates who emerge for public office. I am a consensus-builder within our party and understand my role in the team effort. That experience has resulted in my endorsements from the Trump committee here in the county and by Personhood Florida.

Experience includes previously serving in this same position for Polk County. In his endorsement, Congressman Dennis Ross said, “ I have known Linda Ivell as a friend and fellow Republican for over 20 years. As Republican state committeewoman from Polk County, she was instrumental in my elections to both the Florida Legislature and to the U.S. Congress. Her perseverance for Republican principles translated into a multitude of successful campaigns whereby Republicans were the vast majority of office holders in Polk County. She has the drive, the passion and the commitment to make the country better through her advocacy of conservative Republican principles.”

Since moving to Manatee County, I have given time and money to each and every effort of our local committee, currently working on the reelection of President Donald Trump. I volunteered tirelessly in 2018 to help Congressman Steube in his Congressional campaign, working in Polk, Hardee, Desoto, Highlands, Glades and Okeechobee counties.

As a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty select in Lakewood Ranch, I am honored to serve on the local RASM board on political committees. 

What are the most important issues you will address, if elected?

1. The role of this position is to be the voice for Republicans throughout Manatee County. My experience as a press secretary for the U.S. Congress has prepared me for providing timely and accurate information and providing availability to answer questions.
2. I am committed to increased participation on our local committee by first reaching out and then providing a warm welcome to new members. As a consensus-builder, I will build bridges between our primary campaigns, clubs and organizations. I will work with our elected leaders and other party officials throughout the state to continue our many successes. After this election cycle, the next four years will be interesting with many vying for the position at the head of our party, and we must have a framework for staying united throughout that growth process. 

What is your favorite part of representing your party in this position?

I have always enjoyed discovering why people are involved and what I can do to help them with their personal passion of making our country a better place. Understanding the rules and how people work together is invaluable. Whether someone wants to run for office, start a new club or just find out where to get a political sign, I want to help. Although many within the party have differing views, we have more in common than not. Each of us has a small role in making a difference in our community, but together we can achieve amazing things.
