Young chess enthusiasts from all over the city gathered in the gymnasium of Faith Lutheran Church Saturday, Nov. 3 for a citywide youth tournament, hosted by Sarasota Scholastic Chess, a nonprofit organization formed to promote youth involvement in the game. Students put their skills to the test for the chance to win trophies and medals.
