Charter candidates stump for votes

Many in the county view the Charter Review Board as one of the most important elected offices. The county's charter is essentially its constitution, and board members are tasked with suggesting changes to that document and places those suggestions on referenda. Two Charter Review Board races are up for grabs in the Nov. 2 election.

My View: Incorporation reporting is unbalanced

In the June 22 East County Observer, the editors announced that the newspaper would launch a summer-long incorporation series. The goal was to provide residents with enough balanced information for residents to be more educated about the pros and cons of becoming a city.
