Lakewood Ranch Main Street and the Business Alliance both had a big birthday this week: No. 10.

Main Street and the Alliance held their 10th anniversary in conjunction by celebrating on Main Street with a block party. It joined merchants of Main Street and the Lakewood Ranch Community Activities Corp. on the street with booths, activities and food Friday night. The annual Club Day at Lakewood Ranch was held concurrently near the circle to help get residents involved. About 2,000-3,000 people were expected to attend the evening, said Heather Kasten, executive director for the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance.

"It's the first time the three pillars of the community have gotten together," she said. "It's about the power of connecting businesses, residents and the community in one fun street party."
