Search warrant ends with drug bust

Sarasota Police discovered drugs and cash during a search-warrant execution Wednesday, Sept. 4, on the 1900 block of Central Avenue.

Officers arrested 32-year-old Herman Taylor and 30-year-old Letrece Jones after discovering 23 grams of cocaine and two grams of marijuana. There were three small children in the residence during the operation, according to a news release.

Police charged Taylor with possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a church, possession of marijuana and possession frug paraphernalia. Jones received the latter two charges and possession of cocaine.

The operation came after neighborhood complaints of drug activity.
