In most high-rise condominium buildings, when a fire alarm on one floor goes off, alarms also sound on just the two floors above it and the floor below it, according to the county’s chief Fire Prevention Division inspector.

After approving its fiscal year 2012 budget, the Sarasota County School Board Tuesday examined early projections for revenues and expenses in 2013, including a projected shortfall of $14.5 million.
