Richard Gillespie, of Lambertsville, N.J., and Richard Saba, of Sarasota, sold the home at 558 Harbor Point Road to Karen Jane, of Toronto, for $4 million. The 6,842-square-foot home was built in 2007 with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, two half-baths and a swimming pool. It last sold for $3,885,000 in August 2007.
The sale was the second highest year-to-date sale recorded on Longboat, Lido, St. Armands and Bird keys, just under the $4.2 million sale in February for the home at 429 Meadow Lark Drive on Bird Key.
The Bay Isles sale was the top transaction for the recording week of April 12 through April 16, during which nine sales were consummated on Longboat and its surrounding keys. Of those sales, eight took place on Longboat Key, including three on the northern, Manatee County portion of the island, and one occurred on Lido Key.
In a second Bay Isles sale, Harold Lukas, of La Cygne, Kan., sold his home at 510 Harbor Gate Way to Steve and Alison Carter, of Campbell Hill, Ill., for $1,888,000. Built in 1996, the three-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath home with a swimming pool has 4,024 square feet of living space. The home last sold for $2.25 million in June 2007.
In a fiduciary transaction, Ben Achbar Enterprises Inc., a Canadian company with a Sarasota address, sold Unit 212 at the Promenade, 1211 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Francine Achbar for $915,000. The three-bedroom, three-bath condominium has 2,273 square feet of living area and was built in 1985. The residence last sold for $520,000 in February 1988.
Donald and Peggy Stitzenberg, of Weehawken, N.J., sold Unit M-4 at 2020 Harbourside Drive in the 228-unit Fairway Bay subdivision to Daniel and Margaret West, of Webster, Mo., for $785,000. Built in 1984, the three-bedroom, two-bath condominium has 1,905 square feet of living space. The home last sold for $900,000 in October 2005.
Alan Hamerman, of Sarasota, sold Unit 109 at Water Club I, 1261 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Martha Noyes, of Chicago, for $705,000. Built in 1996, the two-bedroom, three-bath unit has 2,000 square feet of living space. It last sold for $485,000 in December 1999.
Derek and Annie Pierce, of Conwy, Wales, sold Unit 204 at the 72-unit Westchester, 4845 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Lisa Lorito, of Oakville, Ontario, for $500,000. Built in 1970, the two-bedroom, one-bath condominium has 1,393 square feet of air-conditioned space. The unit last sold for $585,000 in March 2004.
David and Margaret Graef, of Longwood, paid $298,000 to Carolyn Owens, of Franklin, Ind., for Unit 181 at Whitney Beach condominium, 6800 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The two-bedroom, two-bath condominium has 1,449 square feet of living space and was built in 1970.
Pelican Harbour & Beach Club
Fifth Third Bank, Ohio, as trustee of the Michael Scheu First Supplemental Trust, of Cincinnati, sold Unit W-2 at the 65-unit Pelican Harbour & Beach Club, 4234 Gulf of Mexico Drive, to Raymond and Roberta Lombra, of State College, Pa., for $264,000. Built in 1973, the 1,150-square-foot unit has two bedrooms and one bathroom. The condominium last sold for $287,000 in May 2001.
Lido Beach Club
Albert Drake, 1212 Ben Franklin Drive, Unit 1201, sold Unit 1007 at Lido Beach Club, 1212 Ben Franklin Drive, to Walter Angoff as trustee of the Bertram Huberman 2001 Newton Qualified Residence Trust, of New London, N.H., for $662,500. The condominium was built in 1974 and has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and 1,421 square feet of air-conditioned space. The residence last sold for $289,000 in August 1999.
