The Resilient SRQ Program is accepting online proposals from nonprofit organizations and public entities for the Infrastructure and Public Facilities Program. Applications are available at scgov.net/ResilientSRQ and will be accepted through March 18.

The program has $45 million in funding out of the $201.5 million Sarasota County will receive from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery. The funding supports recovery of continuing unmet needs in the wake of Hurricane Ian.

The program is countywide and includes the city of Sarasota.

Nonprofit organizations will be required to complete a pre-application form before submitting the project proposals. Nonprofits are encouraged to start the pre-application process as soon as possible to allow initial eligibility to be determined before the full application is submitted.

Public entities may apply for mitigation-specific projects as part of this program as well.

Project proposals must meet HUD requirements for funding consideration. Information sessions will be offered to non-profits at 1 p.m,. Tuesday, Feb. 13 (virtual) and 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at the County Administratilon Center in downtown Sarasota. Sessions for public entities will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, and 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16; both are sessions virtual.

Registration for the information session is also available at scgov.net/ResilientSRQ.
