The Federal Emergency Management Agency is helping those affected by Hurricane Irma register for assistance at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex.

Through Oct. 4, FEMA will assist people with registration for Individual Disaster Assistance, which offers aid for those whose residences were damaged in the storm.

FEMA representatives will be at the Robert L. Taylor Center, 1845 34th St., from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Registration assistance will not be offered Sunday, Oct. 1.

According to a city release, those seeking assistance should bring:

  • A Social Security number
  • The address of the damaged residence
  • Description of the damage
  • Insurance information
  • A current telephone number
  • An address where you can receive mail
  • Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit of funds

Individuals can also register online for disaster assistance, or over the phone by calling 1-800-621-3362. More information about Individual Disaster Assistance is available on the FEMA website.
