FRY IN THE OINTMENT
1:30 a.m. — 3500 block of Fruitville Road
Dispute: A manager at a fast-food restaurant called the police to report a dispute with a customer. When an officer arrived, the customer was stopped in the drive-thru. Other cars were behind her and could not exit. The manager said the customer wanted a large order of fries for free, in addition to the food she already purchased. The manager told the customer she had to pay for fries if she wanted them. The manager said the customer refused to leave the drive-thru lane afterward and had been parked there for 20 minutes.

The customer said she tried to explain to the manager that she could not eat pork, and the manager was rude to her. The customer did not want her food cooked on the same grill as pork, because it would make her sick. She also wanted fries in addition to the food she paid for. The customer eventually agreed to leave the property.

SIGN OFF
11:19 a.m. — 1700 block of Ringling Boulevard
Property damage: A manager at a business reported that three of the property’s parking signs, valued at $100, were damaged sometime in the past few days. The manager said one sign appeared to have been ripped off, and the other two had been unbolted from the post. The manager asked for a case number so his company could fix the signs.

CUT THE CHECK
1:08 p.m. — 1500 block of North Washington Boulevard
Trespass: An employee at an auto body shop reported a former employee was being loud and causing a commotion in the lobby of the business. The former employee had been let go, and came back in to get his last check. The employee said the check was being withheld because of property damage the former employee was involved in. The former employee told an officer that he just wanted his check back. The officer told the former employee the dispute was a civil matter between him and the business.

OVER THE EDGE
8:42 p.m. — 2900 block of Oak Street
Dispute: A man reported that his neighbor yelled at him after his pool overflowed during a storm. An officer met with the neighbor, who said she contacted her insurance company to take care of the problem. The neighbor said she would avoid further contact with the man regarding the overflowing pool
