Lockdown cleared at Braden River elementary and middle schools in Lakewood Ranch

Manatee County School District officials said the lockdown at Braden River Elementary and Middle schools on Thursday morning was cleared by 9 a.m. when it was discovered a teacher's prop, a Civil War-era rifle, had been mistaken as a threat.

The teacher reportedly had not informed school officials he was bringing the prop to school.
