Sarasota High 5 Moments: 03.02.17

1 — Sarasota Military Academy girls basketball senior Hayley Walding was named the Class 5A Player of the Year by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association on Feb. 23, as part of the association’s district awards.

2 — Booker girls basketball senior Cellexia Foster was named the Class 6A Player of the Year by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association on Feb. 23, as part of the association’s district awards.

3 — The Sarasota Scullers rowing team won 13 medals at the Sarasota Invitational Regatta from Feb. 23-25, including gold medals for its Women’s 2x, Men’s 2x (A), and Women’s Novice 8+ teams.

4 — Riverview girls lacrosse junior Veronica McCurdy had five goals in the Rams’ 16-15 win against The Out-of-Door Academy on Feb. 21.

5 —Riverview softball freshman Holley Peluso threw a complete game and went 2-2 with 3 RBI in the Rams’ 6-3 win over Lemon Bay on Feb. 27.
